The 5th edition of the WHO Classification of CNS Tumors was published this year, building upon the advances of the 2016 version and the guidelines set forth by the Consortium to Inform Molecular and Practical Approaches to CNS Tumor Taxonomy (C-IMPACT). There are major changes to tumor nomenclature and grading, as well as an introduction to new tumor types. This lecture reviews the new changes and approaches to diagnoses.
