It reviews key evidence supporting PTEN as a biomarker and highlights the importance of accurate detection, including the complementary roles of immunohistochemistry (IHC) and next-generation sequencing (NGS) to avoid missed patient identification. The session also examines the CAPItello-281 study, which evaluated capivasertib in PTEN-deficient patients identified by IHC and demonstrated improved clinical outcomes.
